Abstracts
General Guidelines for Abstracts
Abstracts for both posters and oral presentations must be submitted. The abstract must be 250 words or less detailing the research to be presented. All abstracts must be submitted by email as Microsoft Word attachments (please use "BIOFOR 2012 Presentation YOUR LASTNAME" or "BIOFOR 2012 Poster YOUR LASTNAME" as your subject header), to: mleitch(at)lakeheadu(dot)ca
All abstracts must have these components:
- Title of the presentation or poster
- Author(s) with presenting author indicated with an asterisk as well as author affiliations
- Body of abstract
- Area of research (theme)
- Name and address of corresponding author
- Times New Roman 12pt font
- Indicate whether submission is for oral presentation or poster
Successful applicants will be notified by December 15, 2011 and have until February 15, 2012 to submit an Extended Abstract. The extended abstract may be up to 800 words and may include a figures or tables that occupy no more than ½ of a page in total.
Guidelines for Presentations
Each presenter will have 20 minutes to present (15 minutes for the presentation and 5 minutes for questions). A computer with Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 will be available, as well as projectors.
Guidelines for Poster Session
Posters will be displayed for the duration of the conference. All poster authors must be available for questions during a specified poster period. Each poster will have an area of approximately 48" × 36" for display.
